Senior homeowners are living on fixed income are burden with the rising cost of home maintenance. When coupled with rising health cost the burden can be overwhelming resulting in delayed home maintenance and an unsafe living environment.

INITIATIVE
Magnolia CDC has assisted the elderly by providing access to programs that help the elderly live in a safe, decent and healthy environment. It has partnered with local banks and local government to access funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank’s SNAP Program as well as the State’s CDBG Program to provide funding to rehabilitate the elderly homes to code standards.
PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
The organization will continue to develop programs and projects which mission is to address the problems of housing the elderly. From providing grants and low interest loans for rehabilitation to counseling on ownership issues and reverse mortgages, the CDC will serve as a one-stop-shop for elderly housing issues.
